Character Biography

There is not much directly known about the man now called Fireball, but rumors have persisted about the background of his destructive terrorist who was obsessed with using flame as a weapon.

According to those rumors, Fireball worked with a top secret government organization on developing state of the art weaponry, and his specialty was in attempting to engineer a modernized version of Greek fire, a water resistant flame that could continue burning even while in liquid. While the story is unconfirmed, whispers among the European intelligence community indicated that the scientist became infatuated with his new invention. When his superiors grew concerned over his fascination with it as an anti-personnel weapon, they cut the funding and eliminated the revolutionary program.

Shortly after the funding was cut, a mysterious explosion decimated his laboratory. The explosion was blamed on a faulty fuel tank, though many of those in the intelligence community strongly doubt those suppositions. Meanwhile, the last remnants of the Greek fire experiment were either destroyed in the fire or vanished…

Although his name and true identity remains a secret, mostly due to the intelligence community’s desire to cover up the event, this scientist is strongly believed to have taken up the mantel of [Character-Fireball|Fireball]] in homage to the R.I.O.T. operative of the same name. There is no proof to this, but his next generation flame weapons and obsession with the art of using fire as a destructive weapon certainly lend some credence to these suspicions.

Approximately two years after the strange fire at the lab and the disappearance of this scientist, the government officials who cut his funding were attending an ecological conference in Berlin, Germany, recommending new sanctions for equipment producing carbon emissions. During the conference, a team of unknown terrorist operatives dressed in red jump suits attacked, killing several and taking many of the intelligence members in attendance hostage.

It is believed that the man leading this attack is the scientist and also the man now calling himself Fireball.

For several hours, he and his team of flamethrower soldiers held these executives captive in an abandoned building near the Brandeberg Gate, threatening to toss out their charred corpses if their ransom demands were not met. Reluctantly, the United Nations agreed in principal to pay some of the ransom and sent a team of liaisons to provide the men with their payment.

However, this team of liaisons was a cover for the Bulldog Brigade, who hit hard and fast, moving in and successfully rescuing the intelligence members who were being held captive, successfully eliminating the majority of the terrorist operatives who were holding them captive. Unfortunately the leader managed to slip away in the midst of the firefight, but the successful operation put the Bulldog Brigade on the map and began the legend that would eventually become the backbone of the Eagle Force Infantry.

A short time later, as R.I.O.T. made their explosive re-entrance to the world stage, a well equipped flame specialist calling himself Fireball ended up on the front lines, helping the global terrorist organization enact vengeance and violence on the international community at large. While there is limited proof at this point, most suspect that this Fireball is not the original Fireball, but is instead this scientist who is using his own Greek fire invention to support R.I.O.T. Enlisting the aid in a team of other flame obsessed operatives, Fireball leads his team of Firebugs in operations around the world in the name of chaos and destruction!
