Character Biography

As a child, the younger Von Chill watched his father, Baron Von Chill VII, rise to European aristocracy through a series of deceptive and politically motivated maneuvers, elevating himself to a place of prominence from his father’s dwindling German Baron title. Becoming the defacto leader of small island nation of Black Isle and placing himself within the echelon of the United Nations, the elder Von Chill established quite the reputation, and quite the sum of money with which to build.

Ambitious to a fault, and far more intelligent than his father, young Rudolph learned at the hip of his father, seeing the political machinations first hand, and also seeing the more ugly underbelly of political discourse. He also witnessed his father working directly with R.I.O.T., an international terror syndicate, and became fascinated.

In an effort to learn more about his father’s motivations, Rudolph relentlessly studied his manuscripts and created a backdoor into his father’s file systems, investigating absolutely everything he put on paper and later, everything he put into his computer system. Rudolph’s grandfather was a Nazi eugenicist during World War II, while his father pursued weapons manufacturing. Rudolph tracked down his grandfather’s abandoned laboratory on a small island across from the Black Isle, and began his studies into genetic engineering in earnest. Soon after the end of the war between Eagle Force and R.I.O.T., Rudolph discovered how to create genetic clones of himself that operated as a hive mind.

In 1988, Von Chill was exploring a secret laboratory with a small army of his clones, when Goldie Hawk launched a nighttime infiltration of the lab, suspecting the lab’s ties to the defunct R.I.O.T. As Goldie sought out proof that could link the Von Chills to R.I.O.T., a specimen dating back from World War II--and long since put in cryogenic sleep--awakened. In the conflict, Von Chill was seriously injured by the creature’s talons, while Goldie Hawk detonated the lab during her escape.

Ultimately Von Chill survived the wound, but it had been close; without the combination of his own medical technology and a pre-programmed plan in the minds of his clones, he very well could have died. It was around this time that the brutal impact of R.I.O.T. and Eagle Force’s conflict settled in for Von Chill and he became even more deeply infatuated with the idea of using genetics and advanced scientific technologies to prolong life.

A short time later, the battle between Eagle Force and R.I.O.T. came to a head, spelling the end of Von Chill Sr.’s place within the organization, and freeing up Rudolph to more deeply explore the possibilities ahead of him. Rudolph and a cadre of R.I.O.T.’s most advanced scientific minds broke away and his interest and skills in genetic engineering skyrocketed from there, creating monstrous soldiers while deciding his role in the war between the revived Eagle Force (MEGA) and the newest version of R.I.O.T..

The next several years are a mystery, with Von Chill eventually taking his father’s place in aristocracy, and further developing his skills and technology in ways the rest of the world had no hope of even grasping. With his father’s wealth and R.I.O.T.’s scientific resources, (now more available with the organization’s destruction) Von Chill became an expert in the field of genetic engineering and DNA sequencing, though the majority of the work he performed there was undercover and kept in secret.

In truth, Von Chill had developed a state of the art technique of self-cloning, using next generation genetic engineering to prolong his life by embedding his memories and consciousness into younger, stronger, more vibrant bodies. The secrets of these techniques are closely guarded and not well known, and rumor has it, that although this has worked to save his life on various occasions, his mental and physical capacity dims just slightly with each “jump” into a fresh body.

To this day, the world intelligence community can only suspect what tools Von Chill VIII has at his disposal, all they know is that this man with his fearsome lineage and strange skin color has once again attached his wagon to the revitalized R.I.O.T. and working together, who knows what they can accomplish.
